Choosing the Most Appropriate Flower

Increasingly, the habit of sending flowers is growing, as in addition to being a gift that demonstrates and transmits feelings, flowers bring the joy of their colors and beauty closer to those who receive them. Today everyone receives and sends flowers without the prejudices of the past. Children, women, men, elderly people... are always surprised when our delivery people knock on their door with a beautiful arrangement and an affectionate message from someone far away or even from someone who is right there, always present in their daily lives.

Our experience in the market has made us believe that paradigms are being overturned more and more easily, but some rules of preference and choice of flowers for each person and occasion must still be observed.

To make your choice easier, we’ve put together the most appropriate options for each type of person:

Children – Try to send small, colorful arrangements with stuffed animals and/or chocolates. However, there are no restrictions on choosing other arrangements to your liking.

Women – If it is your boyfriend or husband who is sending the flowers, choose the color of passion (red for sure), why not a super First Choice bouquet with 24 roses, or if you want something simpler send the Preference Bouquet with 12 beautiful red roses. If you are not her boyfriend yet, be more subtle, choose colors other than red, pink, yellow or champagne are excellent colors for rose bouquets or opt for a basket or bouquet of colorful wild flowers. For sure next time you will have to send Red flowers. However, there is no rigidity in choosing the favorite flower for women, they love them all and you can be very comfortable with your choice.

Men – Nowadays men are receiving more and more flowers. Most people always love the surprise, and then they tell their friends as if to say, “today I received a super bouquet of flowers, she really likes me”.

When it comes to choosing flowers, you can send almost all of them, but avoid colors like pink and lilac, prefer colors like orange, white or yellow. Choose and give preference to flowers such as Lilies, Wildflowers, Sunflowers and planted Orchids.

Elderly people – Grandmas and Grandpas love receiving flowers. And the best choice for both is flowers and arrangements in soft tones (tea, pink, yellow) or potted plants that they can take care of. Now, if your elderly are one of those people who are always active and excited, you can send them vibrant colors that they will love.

Weddings and Engagements – Definitely choose white or pastel tones. An arrangement of white lilies would be the most ideal, but arrangements in shades of red or a very fine orchid arrangement also look great.

Openings – The important thing is to preferably send the most durable arrangement. Arrangements with tropical flowers or a beautiful country arrangement with noble flowers would be the most appropriate choice. If possible, choose larger arrangements so that it appears well, and decorate the new environment, attracting a lot of attention in the window or at the reception of the newly opened company.

Birth – New dads will love receiving flowers at the maternity ward, you can choose whatever you want. Now, if you intend to send the arrangement according to the Baby's gender, send pink or pastel tones for baby girls and bluish or yellow tones for baby boys. If possible, send a beautiful Plush to accompany the arrangement.

HOW TO CARE FOR ARRANGEMENTS

When receiving a floral arrangement, top up the water compartment immediately, always using fresh, clean water.

Always keep your arrangement in a cool place, avoiding direct exposure to the sun, wind and air conditioning and/or heaters that dry out the environment, reducing the life of the flowers in your arrangement.

Change the water in your arrangement completely daily, always using fresh, clean water, avoiding the proliferation of microorganisms.

Some flowers are more sensitive than others, which is why it is common for some of them to perish first. If this happens, just carefully remove the wilted flowers by pruning them or removing them from the arrangement.

HOW TO CARE FOR BOUQUETS

When receiving a bouquet of flowers, cut the flower stems gently diagonally, approximately 1 cm. stem, tear off any foliage that will be submerged in water and place the bouquet in a vase or compartment filled with fresh, clean water immediately. Always keep the vase with flowers in a cool place, avoiding direct exposure to the sun, wind and air conditioning or heaters that dry out the environment, reducing the life of the flowers.

Change the water in the vase or compartment with the flowers completely daily, always using fresh, clean water, avoiding the proliferation of microorganisms. The stem must be pruned at least every two days following the procedure indicated above.

HOW TO CARE FOR POTTED PLANTS

Caring for planted flowers requires greater knowledge about the plant species, as each variety requires different treatment. Therefore, we can basically indicate common care for most species and list a table below with special care for the most cultivated ones:

Basic care for planted flowers: When receiving a plant in a pot, make sure that the soil or tree fern is properly wet or moist. Carry out this check daily, watering the soil whenever necessary and avoiding wetting flowers and leaves. After wetting the soil, let it drain to eliminate excess water, preventing the roots from being directly submerged and ending up rotting. Never place the plant directly in the sun for a long period of time, most of the time plants need direct or indirect light, but always for a short period of time and preferably during the early morning or late afternoon when the sun is milder. Finally, don't leave your plant receiving drafts, the need for a cool environment does not mean that your plant should be in front of air conditioners or fans.
